Creating Magic for the Beyond Words Book Tour

Vox was challenged by our client at You Are Here, agency (YAH) to provide an immersive setting for the start of a new book tour that took place in two very special places. “Beyond Words” is a brand new, inspirational and illustrated journey for children, explaining the significance of life and all of it’s wondrous journeys and meanings- even when met with the obstacles of disabilities and illness. Vox was challenged to take key elements, characters, and settings from the book and make them come to life.

We created oversized displays, free-standing pieces, life-sized character standees, custom backdrops, interactive elements, and photo opportunities. And this is where we excel-large format printing by using multiple substrates including fabric, foamcore, and half-inch ultraboard to the custom fabrication of the display stands. We transformed a 13’ photo booth into a large rocket ship while still maintaining access to the booth for the children. We even created a 5’ tall, free standing dandelion (an integral element from the book) for a photo opportunity display.

The first event took place at the Aflac corporate headquarters in Columbus, GA, where Sheri Fink, the author of the book was presented along with all of the larger than life displays that we created for all of the Aflac executives. The second event was the following day at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta amazing new facilities. Here, the book was read for a large audience of children by Sheri herself, once again, surrounded in an environment of larger than life elements from her book.

Yah was “Beyond Words” with what we were able to accomplish for them in creating not one, but two immersive environments that were modular, transportable, and easy to set up and break down all with second-to-none quality and presentation for their client.
